How do we get people to purchase new homes again?

In Canada, the housing market has slowed down significantly since September 2007 and the number of new home sales have dropped to depressing lows.

What are some of the factors that stop people from purchasing a new home and what would be some reasonable incentives Builders could offer for people to start purchasing new homes?

    The major problem is that people want to buy, since everything is so cheap, but the problem is getting the line of credit they need to buy. Work with banks to see what kind of deal you could both benefit from by having someone buy a new house.

    Yep, since the banking industry has tightened up the credit, nobody is buying. Sooner or later they will relax the lending and things will swing back towards normal. It is a big pendulum and right now it has swung to the tight side.
