I live in a big house where the wireless router is far away, is there anything i can buy to get a stronger con?

My house is considerably large, its one of those houses that you rent out over break with your friends. anyhow, our wireless router is kinda far away, and i would like to have a decent connection in my room, how do i get a stronger connection from where im at?

    Yes. You can buy a wireless access point that will boost the range of your network.

    Try altering the router buy putting it on top of the largest piece of furniture in the room and then if that doesn’t work you could move it to a more central location.

    Also try changing the settings inside the router to change the wireless “channel” your operating on to reduce interference to other wireless devices.

    You could also get a wireless repeater from ViewSonic, D-Link, Linksys, and Buffalo Technology… these will retransmit the wireless signal.

    You could get a wireless bridge.

    Lastly you could upgrade your router to a newer one, but no guarantees it will work as far as you want.
