How difficult is it to rent a house in Pinellas County FL with bad credit?

rent my house
My husband and I are moving to Pinellas County FL in February. We are looking to rent a small house with a back yard that is pet friendly as we have a small dog. Our credit sucks but we have excellent landlord references and the means to pay an extra pet deposit if applicable. How difficult will it be to rent a house?

You won’t find it difficult.. you will find it nearly impossible.

when renting it seems that people are more interested in your paycheck now, and a month security, than checking credit history.

You should try renting from a private owner rather than a rental company. They dont usually do a credit check, but bring along a reference from your current landlord, I am sure that will help you out.

February is a slow month for rentals, so that is good for you.

The market down here is in the renters favor, as we’ve just come out of a condo-craze. Many apartments converted to condos for sale, the sales did not happen and these units have come back as rentals, and are too high priced. This is driving rents down.

A good private rental is sometimes hard to find. But a private rental may not have the stringent rules that apartment complexes do concerning credit.

Prepaid rent, and lots of it, forgives many sins.

    Hope this is helpful.
