Feng shui – should I apply it to the whole house or just to the room I rent?

rent large house

I rent a double room in a large house and spend most of my leisure time in that room.

If I want to apply some feng shui techniques, do I need to apply them to the house as a whole, or just to the room which I spend my time in?

Thanks in advance.

You should apply them to the wastebasket, where all such nonsense belongs.

using fengshui concepts, fengshui is always applied to the whole house. the logic behind this is when you fengshui a room in a house, you base the fengshui on the main door of the whole house, not on the door of the room. likewise, if you live in a condominium, you base the fengshui of your unit to the main door of the whole building. same goes if you are just renting a room.

but please note that the whole whole house must have at least 67% good fengshui, or you cannot feel the change. because the effects of bad fengshui by the other parts of the house also affects you.

the other reason for this is that every house has a center, that is the core/ heart of the house. and this is used in some formulas/ concepts. thus, you always deal with the whole house, rather than the part which you frequently use.

Feng Shui is about chi. This means the entry point of chi, surrounding chi, internal chi, and external chi. Therefore, to fully get the benefits of Feng Shui, you need to analyze the entire property, including the house and its surroundings.

To often, we have practioners focus on calculating formulas such as Eight Mansion and Flying Star without even first looking at the exterior land forms. Many forget they FIRST need to examine the surrounding land forms to see if the house is position within a good exterior environment. Only after the external environment is assessed, then you move into the internal envrionment. This go back to the idea that the house is part of a larger area, in this case the neighborhood the house is located.

Since your room is part of the whole house, you need to look at the whole house first to determine where the different type of chi are situated. To ignore the whole and just focus on a single room or rooms, you will not gain the full benefits of Feng Shui.

Once you examined the entire house and then you want to make adjustments in the rooms you spend the majority of your time in, then it is quite alright. Without examining the entire house first you will not have a good idea of what type chi is located in your particular room location(s). This is because everything is connected.

    Good luck.

If you rent the whole house, then the house is taken into calculation.

If you are renting only a room, then only your room is taken into consideration. Most of the time, room doors do not have the same direction with the house main door. No matter what, since you are renting the room, the room door will be your main chi coming in.

And since room is such a small place, there is almost no point to apply feng shui technique like Ba Zha & Flying Stars into a room. Perhaps you would like to place certain objects to enhance your surroundings.
