Not legally, but I know there is a way round it.

As long as they dont deem it to be a contrived tenancy, eg your dad is inflating the rent so as to get benefit, you have only moved in in order to get benefit. Usually if its legal and above board then they will. Ask them first cos you dont want to move in then find out they wont. Are there any other good reasons to move eg you want to be closer to look after your older parents, more job opportunities in that area,

yes it is legal you have to fill in a different form and have an official tennancy but your local council office will talk you through it
