[uk] where is there a website that explains in simple language, the rules regarding housing benefit limits.
….in relation to the upper limit of house rents that a person is entitled to claim.
obviously if you are looking to move home, and you’ve recently become unemployed…you need to know the sort of range of rented accomodation, that will be within reach, when you go househunting.
getting specific information about this from the benefit agencies, seemed to be like getting blood from a stone…so i need to check up what the rules actually are.

generally your local council website will have a page on this and some even have a quick guide form that you fill in and it gives you a idea of what might be available to you. getting information is a bloody nightmare i don;t know your local council but maidstone in Kent has these forms so you could try there just to get an idea. good luck

There is no upper and lower limit….it is calculated on the property, the household memebers and income
You can ask for a pre tenancy determination to be carried out on any property you are considering renting. This will provide ou with the amount of housing benefit your likley to receive on a particular property. You can get the forms from your local authority. Or ask your CAB to provide benefit estimates using different levels of rent
