Can you get housing benefit if it is a bought house?

housing benefit

My Mum and Dad are both quite ill. Dad has Parkinsons and Mum has a bad heart. They are both working full time but againt the advise of their doctor. What I would like to know is this, if they were to give up work and go onto benefits then would they be entitled to housing benefit for their mortgage?
I am in the UK just so you know!

they would get some if not there full mortgage payments made and full council tax benefit. they should both get sickness benefits too such as incapacity, dla and mobility etc.

They need to get a doctors report saying they should not be working and apply for any and all benefits your country has to offer.
