I do hope your claim doesn’t go through, when my husband was ill a few years ago we didn’t get one penny because i worked, my husband had worked all his life without a day off and this was how we were treated, we struggled through and that’s what you will have to do!!

Probably, why not invite the whole family over and they can benefit from a house and money too.

Yes you can. Go to your CAB and they will tell you what you need to do.

I think the reason they have a sponsor for immigrants is to make SURE that the immigrant wont rely on public aid to survive.

Is he here on a spouse visa? If so, then no. One of the criteria is that neither of you can claim recourse to public funds for the duration of the visa.

You are still entitled to claim benefit, you paid the tax and national insurance, thats what it’s there for. However, I’m not sure on your husband’s status as an immigrant so this is a gray area.

if you look at the conditions of his visa, you will clearly find that you are unable to claim benefits of any kind ( ie that you have no re course to public funds )
Should you claim any benefits, then it is unlikely that a future visa will be granted. ie further leave to remain, or indefinite leave to remain
