This is an iffy topic. If the bank told you you could get it back and they didn’t contact you, then you may have a claim.
However it has been 16 months and you are just now persuing. Usually a judge would throw out things like this. Now 3 months ago is something easier to deal with.
Do this, go to the post office and send a certified letter. It usually costs between $5.00-7.00 requesting that you get your items back.

you need legal advice as to what to do in your state, get it at once.
Did the bank make that promise to you in writing. Do you have records of who you talked to and when. Did you send them written demands for your personal property? All these things weigh in on the likely hood that you may have a legal claim.
There is another possibility, the new owners may be willing to let you remove your stuff. Expect to offer them a small concession for this privilege, say $500. Let them know NICELY that this will avoid the need for you to sue in court. SMILE, don’t forget to smile, it will help you.
