I have a desire to start building homes, especially termite-proof homes that don’t have wood inside of them, more for the areas of Southern Florida and Southern California, but these will cost a LOT more than typical home construction (about 50% to 70% more).
I hear that home sales are a bit slow now. When do you think that things will pick up again so that I can begin building my dream homes and sell them to eager buyers?

My budget is about $250000. I can choose new house in Pincourt with good size 1539 sf or 25-35 years old house in West island with around 1300 sf size. From Pincourt to Pointe-Claire just needs 20-25 mins. My husband works at Pointe-Claire. I have a kid just 11 months old. We have to buy a house but we really struggle about where. Do you think Pincourt has the potencial to become second west island? One day Pincourt will well develope? Become a convience city like Pointe-Claire or Pierrefonds?

Gas savings with air filters and intakes, advertise with flyers?

Hi! We run a web based company that sells many performance auto parts and accessories. But online sales have been VERY slow lately. What do you think of the idea of a flyer to put on cars and maybe doorknobs of houses detailing our reusable hgh flow filters and how much gas they can save the average person? I know flyers can be annoying, but we are not selling some gimic. The filter pays for itself in gas savings in about 2 to 3 months time, and you also never have to buy another filter!

How do you think the flyers will go over? Would it be worth the trouble? Will people wanting to save gas (which should be about everyone these days) take notice and purchase?

Any feedback / ideas is MUCH APPRECIATED!

I am 30 days late and will be 60 at the end of Dec. I been calling the mortgage company several time and each time, they say I don’t qualify for any program and they can not help me at this time. wonder why they will not help?My husband business is slow but we still can make payment at lease $3500 a month. Our mortgage is $5600. I would think they will want to work something out with me since if they take the house, they will loose money. I have subprime loan that is 10% and will go to adj.in feb.2008 which will go 12-16%. What will happen? I try calling them and talking to them but no help from them. What will they do? we have loan with Citi Residential. What else can I do if they won’t work with me? should I find someone that is an agent who deal with this kind of stuff?

If I sell my own house without a real estate agent, what is my exposure to liability to a purchaser? Say I sell a house that has known or unknown defects. What is the liability I’m exposed to, if this isn’t disclosed to the purchaser? I’m sure all states are different, but I’m sure there are some general rules. Which one would you rather buy
House A
Is in a crummy area (Bad Schools, High Crime) with longer commute to work and would cost more to commute to work but the house has heated flor in master bath and is 2200 Square feet

House B
2000 Square feet lower crime area cheaperr to commute to work and less commute time but it vintage but the schools are far better and the crime is lower.
